    • Exposure to chemicals or products with alcohol.

2. Leather Care – Care Instructions

We offer best in class 100% genuine leather products and as we all know, leather starts looking even more beautiful as it ages. And as you know, leather is a natural material, therefore, there will be slight variations in each item and the leather will wear over time. With regular care and maintenance, leather products can last you a lifetime.

  • At The TanCraft, we recommend you use a high quality, alcohol-free leather cleaner or conditioner to maintain the leather of your product. If you do not wish to invest in such a product, then we suggest you use a mild body lotion or a natural oil such as coconut oil. Always, first do a patch test in a small discreet area such as the inside or the bottom of your product to see the result.
  • If leather gets too wet: Dry it slowly. Speed drying leather changes its chemical structure, and you may end up with crinkles. So room temperature with gentle air works better than direct heating with hair-dryer. Any kind of extreme heat will cause the leather to crack.
  • If leather gets too dry: Rub something moist into it. Pick a leather dressing or cream, preferably recommended for leather.
  • If leather gets dirty: Just use a cloth. Do not use any soaps or detergents on the product.
  • Never wrap your leather products in plastic. Your leather needs to breathe in order to avoid any mildew growth, so keep some ventilation going. In monsoons season, we advise you to use moisture absorbers in the drawers or cabinets where you store the product.
  • To store your leather product, stuff it with any kind of paper (except newspapers as it leaves ink marks) to retain its shape and use a soft breathable cotton bag (provided by us at the time of its original packaging) to wrap it.
  • Avoid any kind of grease, oil or pen / ink (especially ball point pen) stains on your leather products as they can never be removed.
  • You may take your product to a leather specialist for cleaning (if required), as we do not offer cleaning, re-dying, refurbishing, or similar services.
